Julie charges $290 per 50 min individual session. If you are eligible for a Medicare rebate, you will get $141.85 back through Medicare (please see below).9
- Dr. King's rooms are at the Essentia Health Clinic at 144 Martin Street Brighton VIC 3186.
- Dr. King is a clinical psychologist and can accept referrals under a mental health plan (Medicare Rebates)
- Non-metered street parking is available in the streets that surround Essentia Health
- Essentia Health is easily accessible via public transport with Gardenvale train station situated opposite.
- Session fees are payable by cash or card at the conclusion of each individual therapy session.
- Cancellation Policy is 48 hours notice to reschedule or cancel a session without occurring any fees.
MEDICARE REBATE
Most psychological services for mental health issues are eligible for a Medicare rebate of $141.85 per session under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Scheme. This rebate applies to services that have been referred for by your GP, whereby they have assessed that there is a significant mental health difficulty and where there is a Mental Health Care Plan in place.
When referred under the Better Access to Mental Health Care scheme, Medicare eligible services are limited to 10 individual sessions per client, per calendar year, with a review by the referring practitioner required after the initial 6 sessions.
Your psychologist can only provide you with a Medicare valid receipt (which you will need to claim the rebate) if:
- – You are able to provide a Referral letter from your GP that is dated and signed by your GP and addressed to your treating psychologist AND
- – Your GP has completed a Mental Health Care Plan AND
- – The person identified on the Mental Health Care Plan attends the session.
HEALTH INSURANCE REBATE
Rebates are available through Private Health Insurance funds. Please contact your fund for information about their rates as rebates vary depending on the Private Health company and the policy you are on. The session is paid for at the time of the consultation and you then take/send the receipt to your health fund for a rebate.
